Leica AM TIRF MC
Leica TIRF (total internal reflection fluorescence) microscope system allows the entire fluorescence excitation spectrum to be used for real-time visualization of live cell dynamics.
The Leica AM TIRF MC integrates four solid-state lasers for the excitation of fluorophores at wavelengths from 405 to 632nm. The system features extremely short switching times and an ultrahigh synchronized frame rate. The system is particularly useful for exploring molecular interaction at cell membranes and molecular interaction of proteins and receptors involved in transport mechanisms. The system allows researchers examine single molecules near the cell membrane and study colocalization and vesicle transport. In addition to TIRF, the system is capable of epifluorescence and ratiometric Ca2+ imaging with Fura-2.
Features:
- Based on angling the excitation laser to generate an evanescent wave, which is used for excitation of fluorophores in very close proximity of the coverglass
- Excitation of fluorophores within 70-250nm of coverglass surface
- Automated laser alignment
- Fast image acquisition with EMCCD camera (30fps)
- Ideal for studying fast dynamics at or near the cell surface, such as distribution, trafficking (endocytosis, exocytosis), cytoskeleton, adhesions, cell movement, etc.
- Excitation lasers include: 405, 488, 561 and 635nm
- Environmental chamber with temperature control
